About Dais
Dais is an independent Miami company. It is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any city or county.
What it does
Every week, zoning, planning and commission boards in Miami, Miami Beach, Miami-Dade County and Coral Gables decide what gets built, demolished, rezoned and approved. The record of those decisions is public, but it lives in hours of video and agenda packets hundreds of pages long. Dais reads them and tells you what happened, in plain English, with each member’s vote and a link to the exact minute in the official video.
How the summaries are made
- Sources: the city or county’s own meeting video and captions, the posted agenda, and the staff reports and documents attached to each item.
- Drafting: AI writes the first draft under strict rules: outcomes and votes come only from the record, and claims are attributed to the person who made them.
- Checking: vote tallies are checked against each member’s recorded vote, and against the clerk’s official record where the city publishes one. When sources disagree, we leave the detail out rather than guess.
- Links back: every summary links to the source so you can check it yourself.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, tell us and we’ll fix it. Subscribers who report an error get their next month free.
